About Sahlbom Oy
CEO - Mikko Jed Sahlbom
I am an engineer focused on building autonomous systems, secure digital infrastructure, and reliable software-hardware integrations.
My work spans unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), unmanned ground vehicles (UGV), cloud backend services, mobile and web applications, IoT appliances and cybersecurity.
I founded Sahlbom Oy in Finland to research, design, and develop high-technology systems that combine embedded hardware, intelligent software, and secure architectures.
My approach is multidisciplinary by design. Modern systems are rarely isolated; they are connected, distributed, and exposed to complex operational environments. I work at the intersection where these domains meet.
My background combines building and maintaining datacenter infrastructure, hands-on hardware development, software engineering, and security thinking. I value practical execution: designing systems that function reliably in real-world conditions, not just in controlled demonstrations. Whether building autonomous platforms or backend services, the goal is always the same - robustness, clarity, and long-term sustainability.
Security is not an afterthought in my work. It is a foundational principle. As systems become more autonomous and interconnected, resilience and integrity become critical. I design with that in mind from the first line of code to the final deployment.
Beyond technology, I value life, family, martial-arts, making music and brotherhood. These principles shape how I build teams, form partnerships, and approach responsibility. Engineering is not only about performance metrics; it is also about trust, accountability, and the impact systems have on people.
I am always interested in collaborating on projects that require technical depth, disciplined execution, and cross-domain thinking.
